Moffitt Cancer Center's Annual Breast Cancer Education Conference to Feature Notable Harvard Women's Basketball Coach

TAMPA - The 22nd annual FACTors Breast Cancer Education Conference will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sept. 26, at Higgins Hall, St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 5221 N. Himes Ave. Kathy Delaney-Smith, the winningest Ivy League women's basketball coach, whose team became the first tournament 16-seed to knock off a No. 1 seed in the history of the men's or women's NCAA basketball, will be the keynote.

Hear how Delaney-Smiths' winning and positive attitude sustained her when diagnosed with breast cancer. She is a 10-year survivor.

The FACTors breast cancer education conference is the only one of its kind in the area that provides an opportunity to learn about breast cancer research, treatment, prevention, support groups, community resources, survivorship and advocacy. Featured workshops will include "Living Well: Coping with the Emotional Impact of Cancer," Reconstruction or Not - Knowing Your Options and Making the Best Choice for You" and "Nutrition and Cancer: Answers to Frequently Asked Questions." Simultaneous Spanish translation will be available.

Guest luncheon speaker will be Dr. Susan Hoover, breast surgeon and breast cancer survivor. Continental breakfast and lunch will be provided. Additionally the daylong program includes a doctors' Q-and-A panel, more than 30 exhibitors, entertainment, book-signings and prizes.
