Lt. Col. Chris Hardgrave Participates in Pilot for a Day Program

Air Force Lt. Col. Chris Hardgrave, (pictured above - left) an F-16 Fighting Falcon pilot with the 121st Fighter Squadron, talks with Kayla Kiley who was visiting the squadron as part of the Pilot for a Day program at Andrews Air Force Base, Md., July 23. The Pilot for a Day program, which started at the base in 2004, allows children with serious or life threatening illnesses and their families to meet and interact with personnel from a variety of units at the base and get hands-on demonstrations of the aircraft and equipment those units use.

Chris is a 1987 graduate of Clearwater Central Catholic High School. He graduated from FSU in 1991 and then received his Masters degree from Troy State University. Chris was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel in October and in May received the "First Air Force Alert Fighter Pilot of the Year" award at Tyndall AFB. Chris is married to the former Tiffany Lasley of Belleair. His parents are Ellen and Newt Hardgrave of Clearwater Beach.
