
UNA'S Beck Named GSC Football Player of the Week
BIRMINGHAM, ALA - University of North Alabama senior quarterback Harrison Beck of Clearwater, has been named Gulf South Conference Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in UNA's 43-26 win over Henderson State. Beck directed a UNA offense that gained 516 total yards in the Lions' GSC opener. He completed 31- of-47 passes for 362 yards and a touchdown, while also adding another TD on the ground. Beck directed UNA as the Lions overcame a 20-16 deficit in the second quarter, leading the offense to two scoring drives in the final 2:30. He then led UNA on a scoring drive to open the second half to extend the lead and led two long, time consuming TD drives in the fourth quarter to secure the win. Beck prepped at Countryside High School in Clearwater before originally signing and playing at the University of Nebraska. He later transferred to and started at North Carolina State. With one year of eligibility remaining, he transferred to North Alabama where he is the starting quarterback for Terry Bowden's undefeated (3-0) and No. 3 ranked NCAA Division II squad.
