Tax Increase - Email to Largo Mayor and CommissionersSince you have decided to raise our taxes again, please consider the following. Even though we had Amendment One, our taxes are higher than last year. After checking with some of the neighboring communities it appears that Largo has one of the highest taxes. Of course these taxes are disguised under different fees. However, a fee by any other name is still a tax. When our utility bills go up, Largo gets an automatic tax increase. So either forgo a tax increase or eliminate such items as "Municipal Franchise fee," Utility Taxes, etc. A good way to reduce taxes is by cutting the budget of the Recreation & Parks Dept.
