
Free Charity Concert to Raise Funds for Experimental Brain Cancer VaccineCLEARWATER - Miles for Hope, a non-profit organization, dedicated to raising funds to find a cure for brain cancer will bring a free charity concert and cookout to Coachman Park in Clearwater. All proceeds from this event will be used to expand existing brain tumor vaccine trials. Moving Towards a Cure '09 will be held at Coachman Park in Clearwater, on September 26. This year's performers will include Mandy Brooke, Clearwater's own Invasion, and Amber Lynn Nicol. The concert will start at approximately 11:00 a.m. and end around 5:30 p.m. Burgers and hot dogs will be grilled, with food, soda, water, and beer for the adults to purchase. In addition, there will be several activities for the kids including bounce houses and obstacle courses, carnival-type games, cotton candy and sno-cones. As with last year's event, people can cycle, run or walk to help raise awareness and funds for brain cancer. This day of family fun event will include running, cycling or walking. There will be a 5K walk, a timed 5K run, 100K, 50K and 25K cycling routes and a 1-mile fun walk/run, post-event celebration, prizes and raffle.
