Largo's Energy Efficiency and Conservation Strategy - To Mayor CommissionersI hope this correspondence finds you well. I am contacting you regarding the United States Department of Energy's (DOE) Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) program. It represents a Presidential priority to invest in energy efficiency and conservation. The program empowers you to make strategic investments to meet the nation's long term goals for energy independence and leadership on climate change. The City of Largo qualifies for $719,200 in energy conservation funds. While there are numerous activities eligible for the use of these funds, I would like for you to consider including city facility energy audits for inclusion in the development of your Energy Efficiency and Conservation Strategy (EECS). As you may already know, the operation and maintenance of city facilities can be costly. An energy audit can augment the development of an EECS that can offset rising energy costs while reducing fossil fuel emissions, reduce total energy use and improve energy efficiencies in city facilities. A proper energy audit will also allow you to invest funds in programs that will provide substantial, sustainable and measurable energy savings, job creation and economic stimulus effects. I would appreciate the opportunity to assist you in matching your energy efficiency efforts with your long-term priorities as this will allow you to maximize benefits over the longest possible terms. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions that you may have and thank you for your consideration. Wisler Pierre-Louis, P.E., LEEP AP, President, Enginnovation, Inc.
