City of Largo to Present Third Annual Military Family Appreciation DayThe City of Largo is proud to present the third annual Military Family Appreciation Day on Saturday, September 26, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Largo Central Park,101 Central Park Drive, Largo. This entertaining, informative and supportive fun-filled day is a community driven event initiated by retired and active military personnel for retired and active military personnel as well as their families. Activities will include live performers, Largo Central Railroad train rides, a rock climbing wall, games, inflatables and more. The Vet2Vet tent will offer ample opportunity for interconnection as past and present soldiers share stories with each other and comfort family members who are eagerly waiting the return of their own loved ones still away on duty. Several local and national organizations and businesses will be available to educate attendees about the various benefits, programs, discounts and resources available especially to them. Thanks to the generosity of VFW Post 10094 and their Ladies Auxiliary along with many Largo businesses, Military Family Appreciation Day is FREE for Military families. It is our chance to show these brave and sacrificing men and women that we appreciate what they've given and now it's their turn to receive. By the end of the day not only will they have been honored, fed, and entertained, but they will also have gained valuable tools to improve their quality of life! This extra special event has been organized through the partnering of DAV Chapter 11 in Clearwater, VFW Post 10094 and the City of Largo Special Events Division.
