Alpha Chi Omega to Celebrate Founders' Day
Members of Eta Sigma Eta alumnae chapter of Alpha Chi Omega of Upper Pinellas will join alumnae from the St. Peterburg and Tampa chapters for the sorority's annual Founders' Day celebration. This year's event will be hosted by the Tampa group at the University of Tampa on October 17. All Alpha Chi's living or visiting in the area are welcome to attend. Luncheon cost is $25 per person. Largo Woman's Club Begins a New Year
The first regular meeting of the new year for the Largo Woman's Club will take place at 11:30 a.m. on October 6, at Royal Palms in Largo. Guests and prospective members are welcome. You do not have to be a resident of Largo to join. Call 641-0911 for further information.
Kiwanis To Host Chili Cookoff and Pie Auction
The Largo, Mid-Pinellas Kiwanis Club will host its first annual Pinellas County Civic Club Chili Cookoff and Pie Auction at the Largo Community Center on October 17. Hours are 5-9 p.m. Admission is $5 per person. Clubs interested in competing may call 518-3131 for details.
Dancers to Perform at Area Mall
Members of the Treasure Coast and Southern Star Chapters of USA Dance will perform at Seminole Mall from 12 to 2 p.m. on October 10. USA Dance instructor Gail Spear is coordinator of the appearance.
Container Gardening Focus of Garden Club Program
Linda Worley of Flowers & Other Things will be the guest speaker at the October 9 meeting of the Clearwater Garden Club. Her talk will focus on "Container Gardening--Big Beauties in Small Spaces". Elizabeth Buchanan will be tea hostess for the get-together. Floral arrangements by Elaine Lukens and Hilda Sinnett will be on display. The "Gardening on Saturday" program continues on October 17 at 10 a.m. Cheryl Drew and Arlene Wich are coordinators for this event. The group's annual plant sale is coming up on October 24.
