Sign up for Highland's "Train for the Turkey Trot 10k" ClassLARGO - Looking for a little extra motivation to run this year's St. Pete Times Annual Turkey Trot 10k? Whether your goal is competitive or you are looking to set a personal record, this training program will help you reach your individual goal. Sign up to reserve your spot for this eight-week class held at the Highland Recreation Complex, 400 Highland Ave. To prepare for the 10k (6.2 mile) race, individuals will learn proper stretching, participate in group runs and will be provided with training plans to take home and follow for the remainder of each week. The class meets every Tuesday at 7 p.m., from October 6 - November 24. The class will conclude with the 10k race held on Thanksgiving Day, November 26. Registration is $48 for residents and $60 for non-residents, and includes the 10k race registration fee. The class is open to all runners, ages 16 and up. For more information, call (727) 518-3016.
