Thomas Replat Request Approved in Belleair

By Leo Coughlin

BELLEAIR - The Town Commission finally finished action on the request of Fred and Joy Thomas to replat their property on Bayview Drive and made some board appointments at its meeting last week.

Also discussed were measures for traffic calming, particularly on Cypress Avenue which is used as a cut through. There is sentiment in the town for lowering all speed limits. All the roads in Belleair belong to the town.

After the Thomases agreed to certain stipulations the resolution granting their request was approved. Basically, the Thomases wanted to join an additional lot they acquired to one they had and have it all replatted as one lot. Some early opposition by neighbors was overcome.

Don Newman was appointed to the Code Enforcement Board and Mark Wilkinson to the Finance Board.

The 85th Anniversary Planning Committee is now made up of Natalie Moyles, Cheryl Franzese, Barbara Chapman, Judy Hanks, Kathy Gaston, Sandy Tuten, Steve Castner, Jeannie Black and Kathy Ross Johnson.
