
Honeymoon Island Hosts Twelfth Annual Halloween EventDUNEDIN - The Florida Department of Environmental Protection, The Florida Park Service and the Friends of the Island Parks invite the public to "Halloween in the Park XII-Shipwreck Island," a safe alternative to trick or treating. The event will be held on Friday, October 23rd and Saturday, October 24th, from 6 to 10 p.m. each night. There will be a family area where children and adults will learn about the story of Smokey Bear. There will also be face painting for the kids, fortune telling for the parents, games, storytelling with the Dunedin and Palm Harbor libraries, food and fun. There will be a scary trail for the older children and adults complete with a haunted house. A donation of $10 per carload will include 10 free game tickets. The event will take place in the picnic area. Participants should wear their costumes (not required), walking shoes and bring insect repellant and a small flashlight.
