
Oil Painting Classes to Resume at Dimmitt Recreation CenterThe Fall/Winter Session of Beginning Oil Painting Classes will resume at the Dimmitt Recreation Center in Belleair on Tuesday, November 3. This class is for beginning painters. No previous painting experience is necessary. Students will learn about paints and brushes, color mixing, composition, and all of the basics needed to form a foundation in traditional oil painting methods. The class emphasizes individual creativity and learning new skills in a fun and friendly atmosphere. Classes will consist of demonstrations, painting time and critique sessions. Winter visitors are invited to participate. Also invited are those who may have painted many years ago and put it aside, but would now like to brush up on their skills. Class size is limited. This class is from 1 to 4 p.m. The fee is $64 for four weeks of instruction. No membership is required. An Intermediate Oil Painting Class will also begin on Thursday, November 5. Students in this class will chose their subject matter and pursue their artwork with oversight from the instructor. A still life will also be set-up for student's use. The fee is $64 for four weeks of classes with no membership required. The hours are 1 to 4 p.m. Classes are small allowing for individual attention. Space is limited and fills rapidly. The instructor is Betsy Schoepf of Indian Rocks Beach. She is a member of the Beach Art Center and the Creative Artists Guild.
