Ride and Run With the Stars to Benefit Christmas ProjectFORT DE SOTO - The Pinellas Country Sheriff's Office will host its 16th annual Ride and Run With the Stars from 8 a.m. to about noon Saturday at Fort De Soto Park. Proceeds benefit the Sheriff's Christmas Sharing Project, which provides food, clothes and toys to disadvantaged children, crime victims and needy families. The fundraiser includes cycling, running and walking events, a silent auction, a kids' bike rodeo, climbing wall, food and displays by the Sheriff's Office. Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive via a Sheriff's Office helicopter. Participants will have a chance to win bicycles and sports equipment. Register, beginning at 7 a.m. the day of the run, or in advance at ride-andrunwiththestars.com. Registration is $20 through Friday, or $25 the day of the event at the picnic area of the park, 3500 Pinellas Bayway S. in Tierra Verde.
