Girl Scout Troop Wins in Parade

On Saturday, December 12, Local Girl Scout Daisy Troop 354, an amazing group of 6 year olds, won the Best Child Unit Presentation for Holidays Around the World Parade with their original walking Nativity unit. It all started when the troop leader asked the girls what they thought this season was all about. One small voice cried out "It's Jesus birthday!" The rest gave a resounding "Yes!" and so the idea was hatched to send this as the message for the parade entry. The girls created Merry Christmas posters, made costumes and endured all their hard work with a smile.

During the parade walk, the girls marched along smiling and waving to the crowd, bidding a happy Merry Christmas to all! The crowd responded. They cheered quite loudly when the girls stopped at parade end to give an astounding rendition of Silent Night, Holy Night. As they walked silently away afterwards, joy filled their shepherd's heart. What a privilege it is to be able to follow the star that is lit within these beautiful angels.
