Pinellas County Sheriff Jim Coats Promotes Sergeant Jim Bordner to Lieutenant

On Tuesday, December 22nd, Sergeant Jim Bordner was promoted to Lieutenant in a promotion ceremony in the Patrol Operations Bureau Read-Off Room, located at the Sheriff's Administration Building, 10750 Ulmerton Rd. Largo.

Pinellas County Sheriff Jim Coats presented the Lieutenant's bars, badge and credentials to Sergeant Jim Bordner. Lieutenant Bordner will be assigned to the Sheriff's Communications Center under the current command of Major Dan Simovich in Support Services. Lieutenant Bordner joined the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office in December, 1987. He is a long time Pinellas County resident and comes from a law enforcement background. Lieutenant Bordner's father was a St. Petersburg Police Officer for 20 years. During his career with the Sheriff's Office, Lieutenant Bordner has served in the Patrol Operations Bureau in many assignments, and with the Public Information Office. He was a member of the Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) for 12 years and a team leader for seven of those years. Lieutenant Bordner's promotion and re-assignment is effective Sunday, December 27, 2009.
