College Fund Board of Directors Hosts Holiday Party
The College Fund Board of Directors held it annual holiday party for its student recipients and their families in December. Checks were distributed to 19 students who provided their qualifying grades for the fall semester and their course schedule for the spring semester.
This year the board also invited former recipients who have graduated and achieved successful careers. Board member Sherry Rankine introduced former recipient Joyce Green Russell to a current student. Ms. Russell is currently the African-American liaison for Hillsborough County and works at the County Center in Tampa. She is on the University of South Florida's advisory committee that raises money for student scholarships and received the Robert W. Saunders award for her commitment to community service in 2008.
