Painting Panel Blowing in the Wind - the Plein Aire Cottage Artists have painted in all kinds of weather, sunshine, fog, mist, rain. This week provided an unusual challenge. Mary Rose Holmes and Helen Tilston were painting beside the Intracoastal Waterway beside Villa Gallace when excessively winds air lifted one panel of their 5 panel painting. The panel was airborne for seconds. The painting landed safely on a hedge just inches from the Intracoastal Waterway and was undamaged. All is well and the polytych will be part of Save Our Cottages Series 7 which opens at Guppy's Restaurant January 8th. (a polytych is a 5 panel painting - this particular scene is Indian Rocks Beach bridge from Villa Gallace's) More than 60 new paintings of Indian Rocks Beach will be unveiled. A portion of the proceeds benefit IRB Action 2000.
