Plan to Join The Beach Walk/WalkBy Anne McKay GarrisThe new Beach Walk on Clearwater Beach's south beach is a temptation for events and celebrations of all sorts. The next one you might like to join is a different kind of walk, sponsored by the Chapel-By-The-Sea on Clearwater Beach for the benefit of the Religious Community Service food pantry. Called the Inaugural Beach Walk/Walk, the event will be held on January 23, beginning at 8:30 a.m., with registration at 7:30. The $10 registration fee includes a Walk/Walk straw hat (to go with all those shirts you've gotten from other walks,) and a pancake breakfast in the Chapel-By-The-Sea fellowship hall. Children under six are free. They probably wouldn't wear the hat very long anyhow. And breakfast, for non-walkers, is a donation of $6. The walk will begin at the Palm Pavilion and end at the church, with a turn around at the new Hyatt Hotel on Beach Walk. There will be entertainment for walkers along the route which is a round trip of about two miles. Participants and friends are urged to bring food goods to deposit in the carts at the start of the race and at the end, in the Chapel. Participation applications may be picked up at the Chapel-By-The-Sea office at 54 Bay Esplanade, or copied off the web page at www.chapelbythesea.net.
