Pet Supplies "Plus" Presents Rally to Rescue® EventPINELLAS PARK - Pet Supplies "Plus" is sponsoring its first-ever Rally to Rescue® Event on January 23, from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at 7331 Park Blvd. (at Belcher Rd. between Lowe's and Publix) in Pinellas Park. More than 20 Rescue Groups will be present with a wide variety of adoptable dogs and cats on site. Rally to Rescue is committed to Doing More™ to support smaller pet rescue organizations and raise awareness nationwide for rescue organizations of all sizes. "Rally to Rescue® recognizes the importance of the work pet rescuers do to help protect homeless pets, and they are committed to doing our part to help in this mission," explained Dave Oser, owner of Pet Supplies "Plus". Rally to Rescue helps rescue organizations across the country give rescued pets the nutrition and care they need and the loving homes they deserve. Since its inception in 2005, more than 227,000 pets have been adopted by loving, forever homes. Pet Supplies "Plus" is offering 10% off the first purchase for anyone who adopts a pet at this event. In addition to the 20+ Rescue Groups, there will be free t-shirts and raffle drawings for gift cards, pet portraits by Don Boniface, pet artist, an outdoor grooming station, and a $5 self-service dog wash (regularly $8) in the store's dog-wash room. "In partnering with programs like Purina Pro Plan's Rally to Rescue and rescue-friendly retailers like Pet Supplies 'Plus', we hope to make the public aware of the large variety of adoptable pets available, and to encourage responsible pet practices," reported Rally to Rescue Ambassador Pat Hose, who represents Tampa Bay's Dalmatian Rescue Group. "We may not save the world, but we can be the world to that one pet," she said. Rally to Rescue focuses on the support of smaller pet rescue organizations that may often be overlooked by potential donors and adopters due to their more limited fundraising and marketing capabilities. But their nationwide efforts to raise awareness for pet rescue causes will have a positive impact on rescue organizations both large and small. The Rally to Rescue Event on January 23 coincides nicely with the first year anniversary of Pet Supplies "Plus" which is having a storewide sale from January 16-31.
