Hadassah to Host "An Afternoon Tea"

CLEARWATER - The Clearwater Chapter of Hadassah will host "An Afternoon Tea" in the APR Room at Temple B'nai Israel, 1685 Belcher Road, on Sunday, February 7. Hours are 2 to 4 p.m.

Assorted teas and tea sandwiches will be served along with sweet treats, including homemade scones. There will also be a drawing for door prizes. Cost to attend is $15. Space is limited to the first 100 persons to RSVP. Deadline for reservations is January 29. Call 393-7417.

Joye "Ting" Swisher will be the guest speaker at the February 17 meeting of Hadassah. Swisher, a graduate of the Clown College at The Hospice of the Florida Suncoast, has served as coordinator of The Smile Team at Suncoast Hospice for the past eight years. The former fashion designer, who has taken on the duties of volunteer coordinator for a home based team for the past 12 years, is also an active member of the Palliative Arts Committee at Suncoast Hospice as co-chair for Therapeutic Humor and Energy Works.

The chapter's Book Club will also meet next month. "Sarah's Key" by Tatiana De Rosnay will be discussed at 1 p.m. on February 3. Hadassah's annual "Spring Fling" is coming up on March 24. For further information on these events and other upcoming programs, you may call 530-9634.
