Hair Stylist Celebrates 15 Happy Years In Bay AreaBy Renee Burrell
Hair stylist, Liz De Spain of Sheer Delight in Belleair Bluffs. "I can't think of any other profession that's more fulfilling. When someone leaves me happy and satisfied with their hairstyle, that just makes my day". Liz De Spain is a professional hair stylist, whose creativity with hair includes specializing in color, with an emphasis on color correction. Her clients can attest to her all around professionalism and pleasant disposition. Interviewing her was a sheer delight. Perhaps it's her southern charm? The Louisville, Kentucky native knew that hair styling would be her life's passion even during high school. "All the girls came to me during prom to have their hair done", said Liz. Having learned from the best, Liz has had extensive training under the expertise of Rusk-Matrix-Goldwell-Sebastian-Paul Mitchell. Before moving to Florida, she was a stylist for fashion show models and owned and operated both The Finishing Touch salon and Revisions Day Spa in Louisville. To keep on the cutting edge, Liz continues to attend advance training at international hair shows across the country. Everyone knows getting the perfect hairstyle can be a challenge. Part of why Liz is so popular, I suspect, is because she's a good listener. Communication is the key to a good relationship between a client and a stylist. That's why Liz offers free consultations to understand her client's needs, wants, and wishes. She believes, "Most times clients don't know exactly what they want, but they always know what they don't want. I always listen first to what the client does not want or like. I then suggest what their options are. It's seems to work". This year Liz celebrates 15 years and counting in the Bay Area. For the past year she has been working her magic at Sheer Delight, a friendly and comfortable salon, located at 80 Indian Rocks Road in Belleair Bluffs, that has six other stylists besides Liz. Her celebrity clients and other satisfied clientele followed her there from Serenity at 880 on Clearwater Beach, a salon that Liz created and owned prior to moving to Sheer Delight. Liz always gives 10% off her first time color clients. She offers this advice to those who color their hair. "There are a lot of options for coloring hair. Sometimes less is better. There are ways to color hair and make it look more natural by using a technique that incorporates low lights and highlights into one's own hair color. This color technique not only looks natural, but actually requires less maintenance--We're all looking for that in this busy world". Her hair do's include: Make a great cut first on your list. The color you pick should make your great cut stand out. Her hair don't is: Don't over do it--don't over dry your hair too straight. If your cut is great it should dry in place without all of the work and go with the natural movement. Liz's advice for a must have product is: A root booster! Everyone should use some at the crown. They're wonderful! Liz really is dedicated to her customers. Her goal is to create the best possible look for each and every client that exceeds their expectations and keeps them coming back. On an endnote, Liz asked me to impart this thought to readers: "Choice of hair color, cut, and style definitely shows how a person projects themselves and how they are feeling. I think that you can put on a very expensive dress or suit but if your hair is not right, your entire image will be off". Liz invites past and potential new customers to, "Stop in to see me, or call for a free consultation. It's a good way for us to get to know each other". Liz can be reached at (727) 385-1752.
