CLEARWATER BEACH - Last year, Fodor's Travel Publications named Clearwater Beach one of the top beaches for families on the East Coast. Tourists here for the beach now have another great choice for oceanfront lodging at 301 South Gulfview Boulevard on Beach Walk.
Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach Resort and Spa officially opened Monday, February 1 with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Hyatt executives Carlos Cabrera, Senior Vice President of Field Operations; Brian Kramer, General Manager; Nancy Longstreth, Sales and Marketing Director; Clearwater Mayor Frank Hibbard, and Visit St. Petersburg- Clearwater's Deputy Director David Downing did the honors.
All guests staying at the contemporary West Indies styled resort will enjoy sunsets and ocean views as each of the 250 deluxe one and two bedroom, full kitchen suites, which feature a balcony or rooftop terrace overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. In addition to the beach, other amenities include the resort's full-service Hyatt Pure Spa, StayFit@Hyatt gym, Camp Hyatt kids club, plus an eighth floor pool deck. The pool deck features 20 air-conditioned poolside cabanas, children's pool, relaxing pool, and a hot tub on the 16th floor Sky Terrace. In total, the Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach Resort boasts 32,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor beachside function space for events.
Restaurants and lounges include 'Skimmers' the resort's lobby bar; 'SHOR' American seafood grill; and, at poolside, 'Swim', specializing in Pan-Latin fusion dishes and offering a selection of frozen tropical cocktail machines.
Through April 30 the resort is offering a special grand opening introduction rate of 15 percent off the Hyatt daily rate, plus a $50 daily resort credit per stay. For more information visit www.clearwaterbeach.hyatt.com or call 1-800-233-1234.
