Lobbyist Has Edge In Ties To Young

Oh my God, the St. Pete Times has come to the realization that there are lobbyist in Washington, including, I assume, the 30 or more former lobbyist hired by the President. I also assume Alex Leary's story in February 7th Sunday's Times about Lobbyist Doug Gregory and his past and present relationship with Congressman C.W. "Bill" Young was written to tell some kind of story, but for the life of me I cannot figure out what. As I read the article, I guess I am suppose to believe that those money grubbing Republicans in Washington are at it again, taking care of their friends.

I want to personally thank both Doug Gregory and Bill Young for working on a real stimulus plan to obtain federal defense funding that keeps Florida residents working through defense contractor, an important industry here in Pinellas County. This is not pork barrel funding like we have seen over the past year to expand an airport in Pennsylvania that only has three commercial flights a day, or a bridge to nowhere in Alaska, or Senator Bill Nelson's exemption from assessments for Healthcare Advantage participants in Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties only, or how about a quarter of million dollars Representative Kathy Castor obtained to do a water taxi feasibility study in Tampa Bay. Give me a break.

This is the second time in the past two months that the Times has seen fit to publish a negative article about Congressman Young. Gee, I wonder which Progressive Democrat the Times is preparing to support, editorially, against the senior Mr. Young in the 2010 off-year election. I guess only time will tell.
