Clearwater Audubon Society Schedules Bird Watching WalkThe Clearwater Audubon Society invites you to join them on their Honeymoon Island State Par Bird Watching Walk. This event will take place on Saturday, March 13th, at 8:00 a.m. Please meet behind the McDonalds at the corner of ALT U.S. 19 and Curlew Road. Honeymoon Island is one of the most beautiful gems of Pinellas County - even the causeway that leads to it offers many varieties of birds. The park provides key habitats for our local and migrating birdlife: the Gulf shoreline, sheltered lagoons, low scrub brush, and pinewoods. Presently, there is a Bald Eagle nest with two nestlings and you do not want to miss seeing the majestic adult parents in action. Join us for this 2 to 3 mile walk on sand trails. Bring your binoculars and field guides if you have them! For more information on the park go to http://www.floridastateparks.org/honeymoonisland/. The fee to enter the park is $8 per vehicle with 2-8 people, and $4 for single occupant vehicle. Please call John Hood at (727) 461-4762 or visit http://clearwateraudubon.org/index.php for more information.
