
Clearwater Historical Society Hosts Clearwater Bomber Day
Mayor Frank Hibbard presenting to Michael Sanders and Dean Robinson a proclamation regarding Bomber Day The City of Clearwater Mayor and City Council made it official by issuing a proclamation to representatives of the Clearwater Historical Society declaring Saturday, March 13, as Clearwater Bomber Day. The Historical Society is sponsoring the event which will take place from10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Historic Plumb House Museum, 1380 South Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue, Clearwater. All of the former Clearwater Bomber Players have been contacted and many will be present at the Plumb House Museum to meet their fans, pose for pictures, and sign autographs. Clearwater Councilman John Doran will read the proclamation and throw out a ceremonial first softball to get the event officially underway at 11:00 a.m. The public is invited to come and meet these softball legends, many of whom are in the American Softball Association Hall of Fame in Oklahoma for, during their playing years, winning 10 Men's Fast Pitch Softball World Championships.
