Animal Lovers Invited to Bring Pets to Clearwater Pet Festival
CLEARWATER -- Clearwater Downtown Development Board's Fifth Annual Clearwater Pet Festival will bring some of the community's most competitive pets, owners, and animal lovers to Clearwater's Cleveland Street District, March 27th from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The event takes place in the 500 and 600 blocks of Cleveland Street, between East and Fort Harrison avenues, and features contests such as puppy races and a pet parade with prizes for various categories. Pet supply vendors offering unique items for pets and people, local animal services, the Pinellas County Animobile, and various rescue groups will be on hand. The Suncoast Animal League will offer microchipping for a small fee, and the Clearwater Police K-9 unit will provide a skills demonstration. A new component of this year's event will be a drawing for a 3-day, 2-night stay at the Holiday Inn and Suites on Clearwater Beach. Attendees get specially marked cards stamped as they visit specific merchants and return completed cards that are entered into the drawing.
In addition, CSDVRS, a downtown company providing technology for the hearing impaired will provide sign language interpreting services to deaf and hard of hearing adults at the event's 11:00 a.m. obedience demonstration and the 2:00 p.m. Police K-9 demonstration.
Parking is available at the Garden Avenue garage and the public parking area in the Station Square Condominium building. Additional parking is also available in the Municipal Services Building garage on Pierce Street.
