Last month, Rick Nafe, well known to local sports fans, received the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award from the Stadium Managers Association. Nafe, noted Manager of various Sports Facilities in the Tampa Bay area for the past 30 years, entertained members and guests at a recent Wednesday noon meeting of the Rotary Club of Clearwater at the Belleair Country Club. His many stories about Baseball and Baseball players were both humorous and enlightening.

Rotarian Sidney Bayne, a professional Image Consultant, introduced Nafe as Vice President of Operations and Management for the Rays, including management of Tropicana Field.

Over the past 30 years Nafe has managed sports facilities, or coordinated the building of stadiums, including Legends Field, Raymond James Stadium, St. Petersburg Times Forum, and Tropicana Field. Nafe is only one of two Facility Managers in history to have hosted two Super Bowls, the NCAA Final Four, and the World Series. He serves on several local and State Boards in various sports activities.
