Bruce Meligan holds the trophy his two Newfoundland canines won for "Best of Show" at the Clearwater Pet Festival on March 27. The dogs, now 5 years of age, were litter mates. Also receiving awards were Diane Travers' dog, Jessie (Largest Pet); Merle Stubbins' hedgehog, Hattie Mae (Smallest Pet); and Alie Clark's bearded dragons, Mojo and Jojo (Most Unique Pet). The event featured a pet parade, puppy races, rescue groups, pet supply vendors, Clearwater Police K-9 demonstrations and more.
