Local Artwork Sought for Cleveland Street BannersCLEARWATER - The City of Clearwater is offering $100 honorariums, cash prizes, and gift certificates to Tampa Bay area artists who create patriotic and Independence Day themed artworks/designs that are selected for display on banners hung from downtown lampposts from June to August. Local artists who are 18 or older are encouraged to submit digital designs that incorporate patriotic-themed subject matter with no text that can be reproduced on vinyl banners. Submissions must be received by 5:00 p.m., May 28th, and may be delivered in person or mailed to Clearwater Parks & Recreation Department (100 S. Myrtle Ave., Clearwater.) The banners, sponsored by Clearwater's Public Art and Design program, are an integral part of downtown's Cleveland Street District outdoor art gallery.
