
Junior League of Clearwater-Dunedin Recruits New Members
CLEARWATER - The Junior League of Clearwater-Dunedin (JLCD) is inviting area women to join their organization and become an advocate for change in the community. The group will hold membership information sessions throughout the summer, explaining the organization and its goals. The first session will be held on June 10th at 6:30 p.m. at the Menaul Art Gallery in Clearwater. Women who are at least 21 years of age, and who are interested in serving the communities of Pinellas and Pasco Counties through volunteering, are encouraged to attend. Topics covered will include the mission of JLCD, as well as benefits and requirements of membership. Additional events will be held on June 22nd, July 14th and 21st, and August 4th and 17th. The Junior League of Clearwater-Dunedin is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving its community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Since 1948, JLCD has raised over 1.5 million dollars and contributed more than 1 million volunteer hours for local community projects. There are currently 500 members.
