Learn the Answers to Life's Questions in Just 30 Minutes

For residents who have 30 minutes to spare, Pinellas County Extension has research-based answers to some of life's most common questions. Each month, free Solutions in 30 Webinars focus on a different area of life's perplexities. Webinars are conducted from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m. right on your computer.

Coming up in June:

  • Lighting your Way to Energy Efficiency (June 9): Whether at home or in the office, proper lighting is one of the simplest ways to increase the energy efficiency of a building. Participants learn ways to improve a home's energy efficiency as they explore different lighting types.
  • Get Ready for Vegetable Gardening (June 16): It's the program for those who enjoy growing their own vegetables. This Webinar shows participants how to enhance a vegetable garden plot, resulting in bigger and better vegetables in the fall.
  • Saving for Retirement (June 23): Extension representatives Karen Saley from Pinellas County and Lisa Leslie from Hillsborough County will discuss how to start saving for one's retirement dreams. Discussions will include investment options in the workplace such as a 401(k) and both traditional and the Roth IRA.
  • Cyber bullying and Cyber citizenship (June 30): Cyber bullying has become the prevalent form of bullying in children ages 9 to 14. One poll indicated that 90 percent of middle school kids had their feelings hurt online. Join Pinellas Extension Sustainability Specialist Vestina Crayton in this informative Webinar, which will explain what cyber bullying is and how to help a child become a good cyber citizen by using ethical practices on the web.
