
Thelma Mangus College
College, Thelma Mangus, 103, passed away at Tierra Pines Center Sunday, June 13. She was born in Salem, WV on November 6, 1906 to William Remie and Elizabeth Ramsey Jenkins. She was preceded in death by her first husband, William McKinnley Mangus, in 1954 and her second husband, James College, in 1974; three sons, Robert Mangus, Jack Mangus, and Tom Mangus; two grandchildren, Connie Mangus and William Frank Hayzlett. Thelma lived most of her life in Charleston, WV, before moving to Largo in 1974. She formerly lived in Teakwood Village West for 30 years. Thelma is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Barbara Mangus, Largo; daughter and son-in-law, Henrietta and Gene Brumbaugh, Hiawassee, GA; and eight grandchildren, Jack Mangus, Jr., Clendinen, WV; Roberta Mangus, Clendinen, WV; Jeffrey and Tami Hayzlett, Sioux Falls, SD; Susan Puckett, Elizabethtown, KY; Bill and Jenny Hayzlett, Loganville, GA; Tammy Mangus, Largo, FL; Melissa Mangus, Largo, FL; and Nancy McCarthy, Floral, FL; and seven great-grandchildren. Thelma will be cremated and then buried with a Memorial Service at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park (2853 Sunset Point Road, Clearwater) at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 6.
