Clearwater Marine Aquarium Presents "Local Sea Turtle Nesting" Educational Series

CLEARWATER - Clearwater Marine Aquarium (CMA) will continue its free speaker series Thursday, July 15, with "Local Sea Turtle Nesting." The presentation will include information about the turtle species that nest on our beaches, how we locate and protect the nests, and more. CMA is currently monitoring 66 nests over 26 miles of Pinellas County beaches from St. Pete Beach to North Clearwater Beach.

"Local Sea Turtle Nesting" will include the following:

6:00 p.m.: Snacks/Welcome

6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.: Presentations by CMA's Director of Education, Joe Malo, and Supervisor of Sea Turtle Nesting, Mike Anderson

7:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.: Question and Answer Session

As part of this free program, CMA will host a new topic each month. Upcoming topics include:

August 19 - "Coastal Toxins: Natural and Manmade"

September 16 - "Reefs and Other Sea Life Habitats"
