(Left to Right) Palm Harbor Fire Rescue Division Chief Bob Markford, Lieutenant George Treubig, and Dunedin Fire Chief Bud Meyer.

On July 15th the Dunedin City Commission and Dunedin Fire Department honored Fire Department Lieutenant George Treubig for responding and coming to the aid of a 17-year-old neighbor in cardiac arrest while off duty in Palm Harbor. Lt. Treubig received the honors at the Dunedin City Commission Meeting that was held on Thursday, July 15, in the commission chambers (542 Main St, Dunedin.)

The incident took place while Lt. Treubig was off duty on May 7th at 12:55 p.m. in Palm Harbor. Lt. Treubig took over CPR from the victim's parents until the Fire Department arrived, comforted the family, and even offered the family transportation to the hospital.

Lt. Treubig was cited in a memo from Chief Bob Markford, EMS Chief Palm Harbor Fire Rescue, for actions above and beyond the call for duty. The Dunedin Fire Department is very proud to acknowledge these exemplary actions performed by Lieutenant George Treubig.
