Rotary Club of Belleair Installs New Officers
(Left to Right) Past District Governor and current District Chief of Staff Keith Kurber installs the 2010-2011 Belleair Rotary Club officers: John Campion, Dr. Hal Smith, Nick DiCeglie (Treasurer), Ana Maria Schweitzer (President Elect), Vicki Morgan (President), Karen Crown (President Elect), Dr. Bob Bialas (Past President), Joyce Baskin, Charles Holloway, and Dr. Allen Baker (Secretary). On June 27th, the Rotary Club of Belleair had its annual Installment of Officers meeting. There were over 60 members, family members, and guests attending the meeting, which ended with a lovely brunch at the Belleair Country Club. Dr. Bob Bialas presented the "Rotarian of the Year" award to Madonna Campion with the following motivation: "This Rotarian has participated in a major way in nearly every social and fundraising event since joining our club. This member worked on the UPARC Christmas Tree decorating team, helped pack and send Christmas gifts to our service men and women, and worked in advertising and selling many tickets to our Wine and Tapas Event. By winning a RI Simplified Grant to finance a Reading Program for Belleair Elementary School and providing dictionaries for each student, this Rotarian was instrumental in our club winning the Literacy Award and the Presidential Citation this year. For the past 5 years, this Belleair Rotarian worked at our club's Turkey Trot Food Collection Program in the morning and then cooked Thanksgiving dinner in the afternoon, inviting members of our club to her home who did not have families nearby. With great pleasure, the Belleair Rotarian of the year 2009-2010 is Madonna Campion." Ed Shaughnessy was presented the "Employee of the Year" award. Ed is member of the Belleair Rotary Club and, as the General Manager of the Belleair Country Club, he has done an outstanding job to help the members in both clubs. With the assistance of Past District Governor and current District Chief of Staff Keith Kurber, ceremonies were held and he thanked Dr. Bob Bialas for an outstanding job as the President of 2009-2010. The new officers were installed, and the President for 2010-11 is Vicki Morgan.
