Local Teams to Compete in 3rd Annual Lifeguard GamesLARGO - The Aquatics Division of Largo's Recreation, Parks and Arts Department will be participating in the Third Annual Pinellas Aquatics Council Lifeguard Games on Sunday, August 8, at Southwest Pool (13120 Vonn Road, Largo.) This event, sponsored by Aqualinc and Ferris Pools, will begin with team competition at 1:00 p.m. During the 2008 inaugural games hosted at Southwest Pool in Largo, the City of Clearwater was declared champions, but Largo, after walking away with 1st runner-up, kept pressing and became champions at the 2009 challenge in St. Petersburg. Local area teams who have confirmed participation at this time represent the following government agencies: Clearwater, Lakeland, Largo, St. Petersburg, and Tampa. The Pinellas Aquatics Council (P.A.C.) was created in 2006 to offer aquatics professionals throughout Florida quality training in management, programming, facility design and maintenance. The council serves as a grassroots organization that provides a medium for aquatic professionals to share ideas, thoughts and solutions.
