Cloudy Days

By Lucille Weiss

How many days did it not rain?
Soon Rudy will start to complain.
Even chickens get cooped up in their coop,
Along comes their owner with a big scoop.

Shop for groceries, bring an umbrella,
Will you load up on citronella?
Mosquitoes may seek their lunch,
Anyone's arm makes a fine brunch.

Grass is greener every day,
Lots of water makes it this way.
Too much water and we float,
Unless one has a motorboat.

This is our rainy season, weatherman will say,
He wouldn't lead us astray.
Admire the flowers all in bloom,
Bring some in your living room.
