Summer Campers Explore NaturePhotos/text by SANDI FAHY
Making sock snakes was a fun activity for (l-r) Henna, Alyssa, Camryn, Autumn and Sydney on a recent morning at McGough Nature Park in Largo. Camryn displays her completed "snake" for the camera. The Naturemania summer camp program at McGough focuses on nature-related activities each day through hiking on the trails, park exploration, field trips and guest speakers. Youngsters also enjoy arts and crafts sessions, themed activities, swimming and sports.
Youngsters taking part in the Naturemania summer camp program at McGough Nature Park gather for a photo following relay races using rubber snakes. That's a live snake in the hands of recreation leader Joel Quattlebaum, at back. He is holding Houdini, the park's resident corn snake.
