This year the food, activities, and water fun at Gracie's Big Splash raised $15,000 to help children with life threatening illness and their families through their crisis.

BELLEAIR - Fifteen thousand dollars was raised from Gracie's Big Splash 4, held Friday, at the Dimmitt Community Center. All proceeds were donated to the Wonders Foundation, Inc., to benefit the Pediatric team at Hospice to help children suffering from life threatening illnesses.

The annual Big Splash is held in memory of Grace Purdy, a Belleair resident who, at age 5, was diagnosed with having a brainstem glioma, a malignant tumor that accounts for up to fifteen percent of all childhood central nervous system tumors. Committee members devoted to raising funds in memory of Gracie Purdy include: Karla Rhettstatt, Kathy Helms, John Yevich, and Gracie's parents, Lisianna and Martin Purdy.

Donations can be made to the Wonders Foundation, Inc., "Gracie's Big Splash", 308 Roebling Rd. N, Belleair, FL 33756. Additional information can be obtained from the Internet via a website created for Gracie and her family at www.prayersforgracie.org.
