RCS Food Bank Hosts Back-to-School DrivePhotos/text by SANDI FAHY
Religious Community Services Food Bank volunteers (from left) Kevin Barry, Barbara von Mooren, Duggan Cooley and Dorothy Sittloh collect donations and point the way to the food drop-off window during Saturday's Back-to-School Food Drive. Some 500 pounds of food were donated to the facility during the first two hours of the drive. Highlight of the day was receipt of a check for $500 from an anonymous donor, who said she had received the money as a bonus from her employer. The Food Bank, which is located at 700 Druid Rd. in Clearwater, has been undergoing renovations in stages for the past five years. Work is to be completed in time for an open house on September 18, when city and county officials will take part in a ribbon cutting ceremony.
