Debate Scheduled for Largo ElectionLARGO - A "debate" among candidates for the Largo City Commission in the November 2 election will be sponsored by the Republican Club of Greater Largo September 20 at Alfano's Restaurant. The form of the program will be questions on current and local issues put to the candidates by Charlie Harper, a club officer and former commission member. Commissioners Harriet Crozier, who has been on the Largo City Commission for 17 years, and Woody Brown are seeking re-election. Challenging Brown for a second term are John Atanasio and Robert Avery. Robert Hunsicker and Doug Lardner are going up against Crozier. The club has sponsored the non-partisan candidates night for the past 16 years. A social period beginning at 5:30 p.m. will open the program followed by dinner at 6 p.m. and the candidates' questioning about 7 p.m. Those planning to attend should register with Harper (727 584-4906) no later than Friday, September 10.
