Clearwater's Crest Lake Is Setting for 1st Annual "Paddle in the ParkPhotos/text by SANDI FAHY
Two-person teams were competing in the first annual "Paddle in the Park", a fun event hosted by the Skycrest Neighborhood. Organizers included Joanna Siskin, Julie Sinclair, Rodney Sinclair, Linda Clark and Shelley Kuroghlian. Kayaks, paddles and vests were provided participants free of charge. Sponsors were Osprey Bay Kayaks, Clearwater Gas System and Postcard Mania. Winners in the women's division were Alexis Tyndell and Michelle Tyndell, 1st place; Joanna Siskin and Julie Sinclair, 2nd place; Debra Campbell and Tammy Albers, 3rd place. Men's division winners were Rodney Sinclair and Graham Irvin, 1st place; Matt Kerns and John Schraeder, 2nd place; Joe Falcone and Lennie Merritt, 3rd place. Falcone and Alexis Tyndell teamed up to take first place in the open division. Emily and Justin Welsh took second place. Steve Schlueter and Kathy Fiori came in third.
Among those enjoying the "Paddle in the Park" event at Crest Lake Park on September 25 are Bryan and Mandee Oglesby, who are pictured with daughters Makena, 4, and Myleigh, 3.
