City offers ‘Thanksgiving Camp’ for kids during school break

An affordable break for parents

CLEARWATER – The City of Clearwater is offering ‘Thanksgiving Camp’ at four of its recreation centers Monday through Wednesday.

A variety of active games, team building exercises and a pre-Thanksgiving feast are all on the agenda.

In addition, swimming is available at the Long Center, 1501 North Belcher Road, as well as a field trip to a local skating rink, participating in a host of games, sports and activities.

Campers at the Ross Norton Recreation, Aquatic Complex & Extreme Sports Park, 1426 S. MLK, Jr. Ave., will participate in holiday-themed arts and crafts, as well as sports and use of the skate park.

For the first time, a camp will be offered at the North Greenwood Recreation & Aquatic Complex, 900 N. MLK, Jr., Ave. Camp counselors will lead interactive games, art projects and activities to stimulate both the muscles and the mind.

The 3-day camps are available at a cost of $45 with a Play Pass, $60 with a Clearwater recreation card, and $75 for non-cardholders.

Camps run from November 25 to 27.

Clearwater residents with children on free or reduced lunch program may be eligible for discounted rates. Space is limited.
