Iowa, LSU fans, bands and cheerleaders gather on Clearwater Beach for Outback Bowl Beach Day

The Tampa Bay Iowa Club, which boasts some 3,000 members throughout Pinellas, Hillsborough, Pasco, Sarasota and Manatee counties, turned out to cheer for the University of Iowa football team at the pep rally held in conjunction with Outback Bowl Beach Day on Clearwater Beach last Monday.

Some of the members are pictured with the club banner and lifelike inflatable figure of the university's mascot, Herky.

Doug Smaus, front row, third from left, is president of the social club, whose mission is to raise monies for scholarships to the school.
