CLEARWATER -

The Clearwater Little League team are the champions of the 2013 Inaugural Advanced Intermediate 50-70 Little League Baseball All-Star District 12 tournament.

The intermediate all-star championship game was held on Saturday, July 6, and was hosted by East Lake Little League. Both teams played well in a very intense and competitive game. East Lake did not allow a single batter to reach base until the fourth inning. After that, Clearwater’s pitching staff managed a shut-out, which provided the spark for a strong sixth inning and a come-from-behind offensive rally by Clearwater for the victory.

The baseball division is designed for players of 11, 12 and 13 years of age and unlike regular Little League plays with rules similar to high school baseball. The hand-selected group of All-Star Little League players on both teams displayed excellent sportsmanship throughout and after the game.
