CLEARWATER – The Clearwater Regional Chamber of Commerce will accept nominations for its 2014 business awards through Oct. 25.

Each year the regional chamber honors business and organizational leaders for their community efforts that make the city and area economies thrive, said Cathy Germer, Vice President Business Assistance.

The winner of the awards will be recognized at the chamber's annual dinner in February. The annual sold-out event attracts more than 500 guests including award winners, sponsors, business leaders, and elected officials, Germer said.

To qualify, small, medium and large businesses in both profit and not-for-profit categories must demonstrate a three-year track record of best practices in business sustainability and growth, commitment to employees and community involvement.

The winners of the awards will receive recognition at all chamber events as a Business of the Year winner; recognition on the cover of the March/April 2014 edition of the Voice of Business newsletter; a spotlight article in one of the bi-monthly editions of the Voice of Business newsletter; and name of business and logo for one month on a CBS Outdoor sign billboard on U.S. 19.

To be eligible for consideration, nominees must be a chamber member in good standing.

At the annual meeting in February the winners in each of the categories will be announced and presented awards.  All businesses submitting an application will be recognized at this event as well.

Deadline to submit an application is Oct. 25. For additional information, contact cgermer@clearwaterflorida.org or call (727) 461-0011 ext. 233.
