Double fun: Two hole-in-ones on the same course, same day

Published:

BELLEAIR— When Marv Zoromski aced the 12th hole on the West Course of Belleair Country Club on Jan. 11, he was unaware that drinks were already being served in the 19th hole. Lori Karns had already dunked a “one shotter” on the 15th of the same course earlier in the day.

Zoromski smashed a 3-wood into the wind on the 12th hole and Karns stroked a 9-wood into the 4 inch cup on the 15th hole.

The event was commemorated with two rounds of free drinks for participating members in the club house that day.

On Feb. 20, Kim Schumacher aced the 13th hole of the East Course with her 9-Wood. She also earned a crack at winning $1 million dollars at the Val-Spar Championship at Innisbrook. All local golfers who had a hole-in-one during a recent period were eligible to repeat the feat at the Val-Spar Championship. No one scored another ace but all enjoyed the opportunity.
