LARGO — The city will host Shredfest, the free, paper shredding event to which residents are invited to bring their personal documents to be securely shredded and recycled. The event is from 9 a.m. to noon April 5 at the Starkey Road Recycling Center, 1551 Starkey Road.

“This drive-through event makes it easy for the public to ensure their personal documents are handled properly by ProShred’s mobile shredding trucks,” Marissa Segundo, Largo’s recycling coordinator, said in a news release.

Attendees can bring up to five file boxes of paper per car to be shredded. File boxes will be collected by the city and recycled.

“This is a winning event for residents and the environment,” Segundo said. “Last Shredfast we recycled 22,800 pounds of paper, saving 194 trees.”
