DUNEDIN – Local playwright Lil Barcaski, who brought the hilarious comedy “Dinner for Six” last season, directs “Picking Up Sticks,” a new comedic drama, presented by Showcase Arts Foundation and Gypsy Stage Repertory.

The comedy involves a detective from Hazlet, New Jersey, who sits with a young married couple whose four-year-old daughter is missing. No one has seen her since the night before when the customary Friday night party was in full swing. Her disappearance will bring simmering family tensions to a full boil.

Show times are Thursday, Oct. 10, and Friday, Oct 11, at 8 p.m. and Saturday, Oct 12, at 2 p.m. A $10 donation is requested. Stick around afterwards for a talk back with the actors, writer and directors, Thursday and Friday night. For reservations call (813) 922-8778. The theater is located at 1714 CR 1, Suite 2, in the Braemoor Plaza.
