Take to the sky at the city’s airpark event

CLEARWATER— The city’s Marine & Aviation Department is hosting open house at the Clearwater Airpark on March 15 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. that will feature an appearance by city native and hometown NASA Astronaut Nicole Stott.
 
The family-friendly event will include airplane and helicopter rides at reduced rates, a K-9 demonstration by Clearwater Police Department and an appearance by the Clearwater Fire & Rescue. A number of aircrafts will be on display including a U.S. Coast Guard Helicopter, U.S. Army helicopter, and Bayflite helicopter (as operations permit) along with a number of unique, custom-built aircraft.
 
The airpark is located at 1000 N. Hercules Ave.
